GT vs LSG

After years of waiting, countless hours of auction planning and two days of gripping IPL 2022 action, the Gujarat Titans and the Lucknow Super Giants finally have the chance of leaving their own imprint on the IPL. They have had to watch from the sidelines so far this season – even as Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore have stumbled to defeats in their opening games. On Monday, though, it will all be only about the Gujarat Titans and the Lucknow Super Giants – just as it should be.

As the dust on the auction settled, it became clear that the Super Giants had had the better of the exchanges. The Titans didn’t fare badly but they didn’t exactly cover all bases, meaning that with both teams having not played a single IPL encounter, it seems that the Super Giants hold a slight edge.

LSG, courtesy of the draft, brought in KL Rahul. They also acquired Quinton de Kock and he is expected to partner Rahul at the top of the order and possibly form one of the most fearsome opening pairs. In Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya and Manish Pandey, they have players capable of holding their own. While neither has been an outright match-winner in recent IPL seasons, they have the capability to turn the screw
